73. That is the exact number of limited-edition soccer cleats Skechers released at 4 a.m. EST on Oct. 30. The company set the quantity to match the 73 goals Harry Kane scored across all competitions during the 2025/26 season. Each pair of SKX_2 Elite “Mark of Greatness” boots is priced at $225 on Soccer.com. The design features a white upper with gold detailing on the Skechers logo and a gold-colored soleplate. The material is not real gold, but the finish is designed to reflect light.
The release commemorates Kane’s victory in the Ballon d’Or, the top individual award in world soccer. Kane is the first English player to win the honor in 25 years. He also took home the men’s Striker of the Year title. The award was presented in London, Kane’s hometown, this week. An international panel of 100 journalists from the top 100 nations in the FIFA men’s world rankings selected the winner.
Skechers also gifted Kane a unique pair of SKX_2 Elite boots covered in gold leaf. The company paired the footwear with a personalized gold signet ring from Deakin & Francis, an English heritage jeweler. The ring is etched with an English lion holding a key, the number 73, and Kane’s initials. Kane has worn Skechers shoes since 2023, the year the brand entered the soccer market.
In a statement, Kane called the Ballon d’Or win an incredible honor. He noted that receiving the award in his hometown made the moment more special. He added that the bespoke boot design made the achievement feel even more distinct. Kane said he looks forward to wearing the new boots on the pitch.
Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, spoke to the brand’s new campaign film. The video, titled Mark of Greatness, features a craftsman working on the gold signet ring. Greenberg praised Kane’s consistency and leadership in big matches. He said that when the world’s greatest player wears Skechers, it provides evidence that the footwear delivers for athletes at any level.
Each box of the limited-edition cleats includes a collector’s edition publication. The book traces Kane’s season through the perspective of the Skechers brand. The 33-year-old striker remains the captain of the England national team. The 24-karat theme extends to the marketing materials surrounding the award ceremony. The gold leaf boots given to Kane are one-of-a-kind items.
The Ballon d’Or, which translates to Golden Ball in French, remains the most esteemed individual prize in the sport. It serves as the global equivalent of an MVP award. The 2026/27 season begins soon, but Kane’s 2025/26 campaign stands as a statistical record. The 73 goals he scored in 65 matches are now part of the historical record for English strikers.
