Siddiq Ander has left the Rapid Support Forces, citing direct control by the leader's relatives over the group's core functions.

The senior commander released video footage on Friday showing his departure. In the clip, Ander states that Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti, and his family have taken over all aspects of the organization.

Ander specifies that the leadership controls money, weapons, troop movements, and military ranks. He describes the structure as a purely family-based project.

He warned that members who speak the truth face expulsion, imprisonment, or death. The RSF deputy commander is Hemedti's brother, Abdul Rahim Hamdan Dagalo.

Ander is the latest in a series of senior departures this year. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Azraq al-Fanjari left on October 8 with 300 officers and soldiers. He took 30 military vehicles with him and urged other fighters to quit the group.

Al-Tayeb al-Wahidu joined the Sudanese Armed Forces on September 25 with 50 fighters in Omdurman. He cited internal abuses as the reason for his move. Brigadier Ali Rizqallah, known as Savannah, left in May.

Major General al-Nour Ahmed Adam, known as al-Qubba, joined the army in April. He was welcomed by military chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. Reports indicate his exit followed disagreements over appointments within the RSF leadership.

The war began in April 2023 after a dispute over integrating the RSF into the regular military. The conflict has displaced about 13 million people and caused famine in some areas.

Both sides are using drones more often in attacks. Strikes hit a market and residential area in Nyala on October 26. Emergency Lawyers reported more than 100 deaths, while other medical groups recorded lower numbers.

The United Nations states that drone strikes are now the leading cause of civilian deaths in the war.
