The Gigabyte AORUS 17 is the best laptop on our list. It comes with the mighty Intel core i7 paired with the mighty RTX 3070Ti GPU and a massive 16GB memory.

The display is a 17” FHD panel with a refresh rate of 360Hz which is insane. The display quality is absolutely fabulous; it’s bright, colorful, and vibrant. The Build of the laptop is overall strong and robust. The laptop is built of metal that provides it strength for rigorous usage. The hinges are strong and stable. The screen wobble is next to none and there is no keyboard flex. The build is overall impressive.

The keyboard is RGB backlit and is made of good-quality material. The overall keyboard is good and strong and feels nice to use. The touchpad is also okay, however, feels a little small; but it isn’t that much of an issue, as this is a gaming laptop; gamers use a mouse for gaming, so the touchpad doesn’t have much usage.

Gaming on this laptop runs absolutely fabulous. We’ve tested the above-mentioned games on this laptop, and the results were terrific, but not totally unexpected. The laptop juiced out pretty good FPS in every game at high settings. The thermals were also stable and the fan noise was negligible. Battery backup on this laptop was not much, around 4-5 hours on light usage, which is not completely disappointing considering the fact that this is a performance-centric laptop.

Drawbacks:

  • Slightly on the heavier side with a weight of 2.7kg.
  • The touchpad isn’t very good.

The MSI Crosshair is a new launch that comes with an Intel Core i7-11800H processor and an RTX 3060 graphics card along with 16GB dual channel memory.

The display is a 17.3” thin bezel FHD, IPS-Level, 99% sRGB panel with a high refresh rate of 144Hz. The colors are accurate and vibrant. The display feels good to use and the 144Hz refresh rate makes the overall experience of the laptop very smooth. The laptop comes in a plastic build due to which under pressure the chassis and the lid do show slight flex, but the material is good and the build quality is fairly sturdy.

The keyboard is from SteelSeries. It supports per-key RGB and can be customized using the Dragon Center software. The material used is of good quality and the typing feel of the keyboard is very comfortable and is also suitable for long hours of gaming. It also comes with a Numpad. The trackpad is of decent size, and smooth to use. It has a minimalistic look with little white designs on it.

Gaming on this laptop runs smoothly and at high FPS at 1080p resolution. In all the games that we have tested, it easily gave 120+ fps in every game. The thermals were stable and then performance did not fluctuate at all, all thanks to the 2 fans & 6 pipes cooling configuration of this laptop. We got a battery backup of around 4 hours under light usage. It is not at all advised to play games and run heavy applications while on battery.

Drawbacks:

  • There are no thunderbolt or USB type-C ports.
  • The laptop is slightly on the heavier side, weighing around 2.6kg.

3. HP Omen 17 Laptop

The display is an anti-glare, 100%sRGB, FHD 17.3” panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The visuals are crisp and vibrant. The high refresh rate provides a seemingly smooth gameplay experience. The bezels are extremely thin which gives the laptop a modern and elegant look. The laptop comes in an aluminum build which gives strength to the body of the laptop. The chassis and lid flex is negligible. The hinges are stable and give a feel of sturdiness.

All the keys are of appropriate size, even the arrow keys are of full size. The keyboard does not have a Numpad, but comes with 6 customizable game buttons. The keyboard quality is undoubtedly superb. The typing and gaming experience on this keyboard was exceptionally good.

The keyboard is RGB backlit, and the lighting effects can be changed using the OMEN Gaming Hub. The trackpad is large and gives a smooth user experience. Gaming is not what one should expect to do using a touchpad, but for work purposes it is excellent.  

Coming to performance, among all the games that we tested, this laptop performed up to the expectations in each of them. At 1080p high settings, it gave above 120 fps in every game on our list. For gaming, this would be an amazing pick. When we tested this laptop for battery performing light tasks such as typing, browsing, and video playback, it lasted for slightly more than 6 hours, which can be said to be decent, given the high power consumption of its powerful components.

Drawbacks:

  • Having a Numpad on a 17-inch laptop would be good.
  • Hard to carry as it weighs more than 2.7kg.

4. Asus TUF A17 Laptop

The build quality is very sturdy. It is built for rigorous and extreme usage. Asus claims the laptop to be of Military Grade toughness, and honestly, it also feels the same in hand.

The keyboard is of good quality. The typing experience is very comfortable, and also suitable for long hours of gaming. The touchpad is of decent size and has a smooth user experience.

Games run very smoothly on this beast. All the games ran smoothly and were above 120fps on this laptop. The thermals were also very stable on in and barely showed any performance fluctuations.

Drawbacks:

  • The visuals are not very sharp and vibrant.

5. Acer Nitro 5 Laptop

Acer Nitro 5 is a beast laptop that comes with an AMD Ryzen 5800H processor, an RTX 3060 and 16GB RAM.

The display is a 17.3” FHD IPS display that can support a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The display quality is not that impressive; the colors aren’t accurate; purple seems like blue, and red seems like orange. The color accuracy is a disaster. The build quality is fairly good, and the looks aren’t awesome either. There are a lot of vents though to aid cooling. Build quality isn’t great but isn’t a disaster either.

The keyboard is a full-size RGB backlit keyboard with a Numpad. The typing feel is good and there is barely any keyboard flex. It feels nice to game on and the typing experience is also very good. The touchpad is of reasonable size and is smooth to use.

The gaming performance on this laptop is however very good, thus despite of a below-average display, it is still ranked 4th. Games run smoothly at 120-130fps. The battery is decent with around 6.5 hours of backup during video playback, typing, and browsing.

Drawbacks:

  • The display is not good.

The keyboard is of quite good quality and the comfort during typing and gaming is fabulous. The touchpad size is not bad and has gave a smooth user experience.

Games run pretty smoothly on it. All the games we tested ran smoothly above 100fps on this laptop. The thermals were also very stable and there were barely any performance fluctuations. The battery lasts around 5-6 hours easily on light usage.

Drawbacks:

  • The keyboard has a white backlight instead of RGB thus compromising looks.
  • Very Bulky.

The games we tested ran very smoothly. All the games ran smoothly and were above 110fps on this laptop. The thermals were stable and it barely showed any performance fluctuations. Battery life is also very good, we got a backup of more than 6 hours while typing, watching videos, and browsing on this laptop.

Drawbacks:

  • Quite heavy, thus difficult to carry.
  • DIsplay quality is not very impressive.
