The display is a 17.3” thin bezel FHD, IPS-Level, 99% sRGB panel with a high refresh rate of 144Hz. The colors are accurate and vibrant. The display feels good to use and the 144Hz refresh rate makes the overall experience of the laptop very smooth. The laptop comes in a plastic build due to which under pressure the chassis and the lid do show slight flex, but the material is good and the build quality is fairly sturdy.

The keyboard is from SteelSeries. It supports per-key RGB and can be customized using the Dragon Center software. The material used is of good quality and the typing feel of the keyboard is very comfortable and is also suitable for long hours of gaming. It also comes with a Numpad. The trackpad is of decent size, and smooth to use. It has a minimalistic look with little white designs on it.

Gaming on this laptop runs smoothly and at high FPS at 1080p resolution. In all the games that we have tested, it easily gave 120+ fps in every game. The thermals were stable and then performance did not fluctuate at all, all thanks to the 2 fans & 6 pipes cooling configuration of this laptop. We got a battery backup of around 4 hours under light usage. It is not at all advised to play games and run heavy applications while on battery.

Drawbacks:

  • There are no thunderbolt or USB type-C ports.
  • The laptop is slightly on the heavier side, weighing around 2.6kg.

The bezels are extremely thin which gives the laptop a modern and elegant look. The laptop comes in an aluminum build which gives strength to the body of the laptop. The chassis and lid flex is negligible. The hinges are stable and give a feel of sturdiness.

All the keys are of appropriate size, even the arrow keys are of full size. The keyboard does not have a Numpad, but comes with 6 customizable game buttons. The keyboard quality is undoubtedly superb. The typing and gaming experience on this keyboard was exceptionally good.

The keyboard is RGB backlit, and the lighting effects can be changed using the OMEN Gaming Hub. The trackpad is large and gives a smooth user experience. Gaming is not what one should expect to do using a touchpad, but for work purposes it is excellent.  

Coming to performance, among all the games that we tested, this laptop performed up to the expectations in each of them. At 1080p high settings, it gave above 120 fps in every game on our list. For gaming, this would be an amazing pick. When we tested this laptop for battery performing light tasks such as typing, browsing, and video playback, it lasted for slightly more than 6 hours, which can be said to be decent, given the high power consumption of its powerful components.

Drawbacks:

  • Having a Numpad on a 17-inch laptop would be good.
  • Hard to carry as it weighs more than 2.7kg.

Games run very smoothly on this beast. All the games ran smoothly and were above 120fps on this laptop. The thermals were also very stable on in and barely showed any performance fluctuations. It can also handle light task very easily, however, being a performance-centric laptop, the battery doesn’t last long even under light usage.
