A registered sex offender in Meridianville, Alabama, is charged with 10 counts of first-degree voyeurism.

Daren William Mount, 59, was taken into custody on Monday. Huntsville Police Department detectives say an employee at a local business noticed strange pictures while helping Mount move digital files. That report triggered a review by the Special Task Force Rescuing and Investigating Kid Exploitation team. Investigators examined the suspect's devices and found photos and videos of children. Some images were taken from angles that exposed private parts of the children's bodies. Detectives stated that certain recordings appeared to be captured in public locations. They also identified manipulated digital files in the collection.

Mount has a long history with the legal system. Federal court records show he pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography in 2013. A judge sentenced him to 84 months in prison and 240 months of supervised release. The 2011 indictment noted his offenses occurred between 2003 and 2010 while he viewed material on a laptop. After being released from prison in 2019, Mount violated his release terms twice. Following the second violation, a federal judge ordered him to remain under supervised release for life.

Police seized electronic equipment during the Monday arrest. Forensic specialists are currently analyzing the hard drives and memory units. Law enforcement officials indicate that Mount may face additional charges as the digital review continues. He is currently listed on the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry.
