The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 138 to 117 on Monday night, setting a new standard for their offensive production this season. The victory improved the Lakers to a 6-2 record. The team shot 57% from the field and 45% from three-point range before the fourth quarter ended.
Luka Dončić led the effort with 42 points on 14-of-24 shooting. He added 13 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals. This marked the fourth time in his last five games that he scored at least 40 points. His assist total was the highest of his current season.
Head Coach JJ Redick noted that the team had been questioning their connectedness in recent days. He observed that the offense flowed smoothly for an entire game against Miami. The players created easy shots and attacked openings with decisiveness.
Austin Reaves returned to form with 27 points and five assists, snapping a brief slump. Walker Kessler recorded a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Sandro Mamukelashvili contributed 15 points and four assists as a key bench presence.
The Lakers will look to maintain this momentum in their upcoming schedule. The team’s season-high scoring output demonstrated a level of efficiency not seen earlier in the year.
