Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown missed Sunday's 24-19 victory over the Dolphins due to a knee injury. He was ruled out on Saturday afternoon before the team traveled to Miami.
This absence came two weeks after Brown returned to the lineup following a high ankle sprain sustained in Week 1. He had been eligible to play starting in Week 6. Since returning, he played more than 100 snaps across a win over the Jets and a subsequent loss to the Bears four days later.
Brown first appeared on the injury report last Wednesday. He was limited and did not finish practice that day. He was listed as a non-participant for the following two days before being ruled out for the Miami game.
Head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the situation on Monday. Speaking on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show, he noted that Brown did not travel with the team. Vrabel said he looked forward to seeing the player in treatment that day. During his later press conference, Vrabel answered that the team would see if Brown practices on Wednesday.
The Patriots won the game without their star receiver. DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism combined for nine catches on nine targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns. The team also lost tight end Hunter Henry to a foot injury during the contest.
Wide receivers Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs are currently on injured reserve. Hollins suffered a calf injury, while Doubs has a shoulder issue. Hollins is eligible for activation this week.
